IN SENSORIUMA NEW INTERACTIVE BUTOH-VOCAL THEATRE INSTALLATION.
I have created mask art-objects inspired by the beautiful makeup styles of the Surma and Mursi tribes of East Africa’s Omo Valley (Ethiopia, Kenya and Sudan). I will train art-collectors in my butoh-vocal theatre style to perform the spirits of these art-objects. The performance of these art-objects will take place in a 2 hour live performance at Teatro La Tea in the lower east side. The general audience will also be invited to participate in this performance. The performance will be filmed and will become a serial video-work about the adventures of myself and these embodied art-objects.
