I was lucky this New Year to ring in 2009 at my Brooklyn apartment with some old and new faces. The party was a success with a very merry mood, dancing to good music, beautiful people and instant fad mimosas.

Notable surprises were recent Chicago-émigré Priya Agrawal and photographer Ruby Gold. Best dressed was performance artist Gertrude Berg. Gerti stayed high-heeled while everyone else went barefoot so she could enjoy her gorgeous new suede booties and then she stayed till seven in the morning just like auld times.

Ms. Omolola Ladeinde was sans-fiancé for the night but voted Sweetest-Heart. She arrived with art-therapist Jessica Zapotechne on her arm who was also sans-beau but stunning. Jessica, I love doing the hustle / electric slide with you.

Rare record dealer Ari Leichtman was the first guest to arrive and set the merry mood with compliments and champagne while I rushed around cleaning up. Truly an auld friend, we spent Christmas feting his birthday, which falls on the same day.
